OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Stevenson University women's soccer team clinched a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Immaculata University on Wednesday evening.
Kamille Purcell put away the first goal for the Mustangs in the ninth minute. In the 53rd minute, the Mighty Macs netted a goal to tie the game 1-1. Stevenson responded to Immaculata tying the game with a game-winning goal from Samantha Wilson assisted by Purcell with four minutes and 24 seconds left in the game.
Wilson, Purcell, and Brooke Knabe all had two shots on goal, in addition to five other Mustangs making an effort to score. The Mustangs outshot the Mighty Macs 24-11, 11-5 on net. Courtney Wysokowski made four saves, while the defense held a strong front, not allowing any corner kicks, to secure the win for the Mustangs.
The Mustangs continue on the road to face Albright College on Saturday, October 14th at 4:30 p.m. in MAC Commonwealth play.
