READING, Pa. - Stevenson Women's Soccer headed to Albright College this afternoon for a MAC Commonwealth matchup. A strong offensive performance would propel the Mustangs to their second straight win and first MACC victory of the season.
Senior Taylor Reider got to work right away, scoring Stevenson's first goal at the nine minute mark. Sophomore Jayden Rittle was credited with the assist on the game-winner. The goal is Reider's second of the season and Rittle's assist is her second as well.
The Lions would hold the Mustangs off for almost 40 minutes, but first-year Colleen Fanning would net her first collegiate goal to break the stalemate. She was assisted by sophomore Kamille Purcell for her third assist and seventh point of the season.
First-year Isabella Wymer would also notch her first collegiate goal at the 79-minute mark in an unassisted effort to cap off the scoring frenzy for the visiting Mustangs.
Reider and Purcell led the offensive charge with three shots on goal each. Fanning and sophomore Kayla Gerbes trailed with two, while Wymer, Rittle, and first-year Julyana Medina registered one apiece.
In net, senior Courtney Wysokowski picked up the shutout and win with two saves.
With the win, the Mustangs improve to 5-5-4 overall and 1-1-1 in conference play. Stevenson will host Widener University in a MACC matchup on Tuesday, October 17th at 6 p.m. for their Breast Cancer Awareness game.
