BALTIMORE, Md. – Following an impressive ten-match win streak, Stevenson women's volleyball fought a tough five-set match against ninth-ranked Johns Hopkins University Blue Jays in Baltimore, Md., on Friday evening.
The set scores were 25-23, 25-23, 25-14, 25-23, and 15-8 l, with the Mustangs finishing on top in the second and fourth sets.
The Mustangs brought the action in the first set with a .237 attack percentage and notched 11 kills in both the first and second sets.
Both senior outside hitter
Rileigh Kimball and sophomore outside hitter Kylie Deslauriers had 11 kills each, with senior middle hitter
Darian Dildy topping the team with six block assists.
Defensively, fifth year libero
Kayla Vaeth continued to be a force with 20 digs on the evening, while also adding an ace. Sophomore setter
Samantha Simmers finished with three aces.
The Mustangs return home from the short trip to play in a tri-match against Lebanon Valley College and Stockton University on October 7 in Owings Mills gymnasium. The match times are 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m.
