CHESTER, Pa, - Stevenson Field Hockey traveled to MAC Commonwealth opponent Widener University tonight as their regular season schedule dwindles to just four games.
The Pride scored their first goal of the night early in the second quarter and their second within three minutes of the second half's start. To hold their lead, they shut down all scoring attempts made by the Mustangs, giving the hosts a 2-0 victory.
Offensively, first-year Monica Druckemiller lead the Mustangs with two shots on goal. Senior Rylee Leakway contributed Stevenson's third.
In goal, senior Eve Vickery played the first half, making five saves. She leads the Mustangs with 39 saves on the season. First-year Jordan Vradenburgh entered in the second half, recording three saves.
The loss puts the Mustangs at 8-8 overall and 1-3 in conference. Two of Stevenson's conference losses were to ranked opponents.
Stevenson hosts Eastern University on Saturday, October 21st at noon for their senior day and alumni appreciation game. This matchup is the final contest of the regular season at Owings Mills East, as the Mustangs will then travel to Alvernia University (October 25) and Hood College (October 28) to round out MACC play.
