WILKES-BARRE Pa. – Seven different players added goals while six had a multi-point game as the Stevenson men's ice hockey team (6-8 , 3-4 UCHC/3-0 MAC) defeated Kin's (Pa.) (2-7-1, 2-5-2 UCHC/1-2-1 MAC) in UCHC and MAC play Friday night at Revolution Ice Centre.
Liam McCanney added two goals on the night while
Austin Master and
Malcolm Palmer each added two assists.
Frank Vitucci,
Graeme McCrory, and
Eric Olson all added a goal and an assist for multi-point performances.
The Mustangs jumped on the board first with a power play goal from
Eric Olson at 12:36 of the first period.
Malcolm Palmer and
Evan Beers added assists on the goal. King's tied the game less than a minute later with a goal from Luke Babilon. The Mustangs would take the lead into the first intermission with a late goal from
Zach Egber at 19:35, assisted by
Graeme McCrory and Connor MacDonell.
Stevenson carried its momentum to the second period adding another tally just 1:10 into the frame from
Brendan Rylott. Palmer added his second assist on the goal with Eric Olsen adding an assist.
Liam McCanney rounded out the middle stanza scoring with a goal almost three minutes later at the 3:48 mark.
Austin Master and
Frank Vitucci added assists on the goal.
The Mustangs moved their lead to 5-1 with an unassisted goal from
Graeme McCrory at 5:47 in the third. Just over a minute later,
Liam McCanney added his second tally of the night at 6:52, also unassisted.
Frank Vitucci netted a power play goal at 11:26 in the third period, assisted by
Austin Master to move the Mustang lead to 7-1.
Jake Roberts rounded out the scoring with a goal at 14:36.
Nick Dineen and
Alex Rivet added assists on the goal.
