REISTERSTOWN, Pa. – Senior goaltender
Marko Sturma notched his first-career shutout as the Stevenson men's ice hockey team (9-8 overall, 6-4 UCHC, 6-0 MAC) tallied three goals in the second period to defeat Lebanon Valley(2-11-2 overall, 1-8-1 UCHC, 0-3-1 MAC) 3-0 in MAC and UCHC play Saturday night at the Reisterstown Sportsplex.
The first period saw 16 shots off Stevenson sticks while the Dutchmen mustered only six in the period, however neither goalie allowed a puck to cross the goal line. Stevenson earned three power play opportunities in the opening frame, taking 10 shots in the chances but were unable to break into the scoring column.
The Mustangs carried their momentum into the second period, adding three goals in the middle stanza alone.
Kyle Lightfoot opened the scoring just 2:13 into the period assisted by
Alex Rivet and
Seth Bergeron. Eric Olsen added another goal at 14:36 with assists from
Evan Beers and
Brendan Rylott. Just a half minute later
Alex Rivet added the final tally for the Mustangs with a goal at 15:06, assisted by
Kyle Lightfoot. Sturma added seven more saves in the period.
The final period saw 12 shots from the Mustangs while LVC added five. Each goaltender stopped each shot they faced.
Numbers and Notes

- Alex Rivet added a goal and an assist for his third multi-point game of the season.
