OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Stevenson men's soccer team earned another tie in a tug-of-war affair on a very windy Tuesday afternoon against the University of Mary Washington. With the tie, the Mustangs round out their record to 1-4-5 while the Saints move to 4-3-2.

Edson DeMata Ribeiro had three shots on the day, netting the equalizer for the Mustangs in the second half with the help of senior defense
Iliass Zouita.
The first half established the call-and-answer momentum of the entire game. The Eagles had a pair of attempts in the fifth minute by senior midfielder Gadsoni Abel and junior midfielder/ forward Abel Luwis. The Mustangs answered with a pair of attempts, one in the sixth minute by junior forward
Samuel Diaz and the other in the eighth minute by Seivers. Following these series of attempts, the Mustangs could not follow through, and allowed the first score of the afternoon from Mary Washington's sophomore forward Carter Berg.
The second half brought new excitement after a tightly played first half. DeMata Ribeiro made an attempt in the 51
st minute, one ultimately saved by replacement Eagles' goalkeeper sophomore Altan Murray.
The Mustangs netted the equalizer in the 53
rd minute after an attempt from Kirkland, coming off the foot of DeMata Ribeiro. Kirkland footed another attempt in the 55
th minute, missing just off target. After a yellow card for each team at the end of the 56
th and beginning of the 57
th minute, SU's goalkeeper had the first of his saves, stopping an attempt by freshman midfielder Michael Lenhard. DeMata Ribeiro answered with an off-target attempt in the 69
th minute. As the half ticked away, both teams did whatever it took to break the equalizer, resulting in yellow and red cards for the Eagles and two yellows for the Mustangs. The game ended in a 1-1 draw.
