Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Stevenson women's lacrosse controlled things from the opening draw, running away from shorthanded Eastern with a 20-1 victory in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth play at Mustang Stadium on Saturday.
Stevenson (8-4, 3-0) remains unbeaten in conference play, working in the entire lineup available to head coach Kathy Railey on Saturday afternoon. The Mustangs surpassed the 20-goal mark for the third consecutive game, finishing with 12 different players who contributed a point while also holding Eastern (1-10) scoreless over the final three quarters behind stout defense.
Mary Marc notched four goals with an assist, while Caroline Murphy picked up seven more points on four goals and three assists for the Mustangs. McKenna Blick, Lan Le Crotty, Kara Yarusso and Amber Villaluz each had two goals, with Villaluz notching her first collegiate markers.
Sophie Shucosky and Caitlyn Lane alternated quarters in goal for the Mustangs, which opened up a 10-goal margin just under two minutes into the second quarter that started the running clock. From there, Stevenson worked a more patient approach on the offensive end. The Mustangs scored the first six goals of the contest before Eastern got on the board for its lone tally in the opening quarter. From there, the Mustangs recorded the final 14 goals for the runaway victory.
The Mustangs rattled off a pair of quick goals from Kozlowski and Blick before Marc finished off a Murphy feed at 10:02 for an early 3-0 edge. Isabelle VanEmburgh charged in for a 7-1 edge before Blick and Murphy rounded out the scoring in the initial stanza.
In the second, Stevenson ballooned its lead to 10 goals with an unassisted finish from Crotty at 13:02. Murphy followed it up with consecutive goals, including a behind-the-back transition marker for a 12-1 advantage.
Villaluz netted her first collegiate goal moments later, cutting inside before placing a low shot into the cage.
Kirsten Foster recorded her second goal of the season with the lone goal of the third quarter for the Mustangs. Marc, Hannah Zimmer and Villaluz rounded out the scoring for Stevenson.
Stevenson held a 33-6 edge in shots, causing 13 turnovers on the day in smothering Eastern.

- Marc has rifled home 11 goals over three conference games for the Mustangs, emerging as yet another scoring threat for a potent Mustang lineup.
- Murphy jumped into sole possession of eighth place on the Stevenson all-time points list (188). She is also eighth in program history in career goals (140) and tied for eighth in career assists (42).
