MECHANICSBURG, Pa. - Junior Cameron Summers smashed his previous personal best in the 100m dash with a blazing finals time of 10.78 seconds en route to first place in the event at the Messiah Invitational. Summers' new personal best is currently tops in the MAC, third in the Mid-Atlantic region and among the top 25 in Division III. Junior Jeremiah Williams took fifth place in the finals with a time of 11.13. Williams clocked a personal best in the prelims with an 11.06.
The Mustangs would place 10th out of 23 schools with a team score of 34.
Sophomore Jai Raccioppi had himself a solid day on the track. Raccioppi crossed the line in the 200 with a personal-best time of 22.43, giving him fifth overall. He would also place seventh in the 400 with a 52.07.
Nathan Williams continued his stellar sophomore campaign with a personal-best toss of 45.34m in the hammer throw, giving him second overall and the seventh-best performance in the conference. Williams would also place fifth in the shot put with a top distance of 13.82 meters. Junior Marcus Pugh had a top toss of 12.31m to take 10th overall out of 38 competitors.
In the 800, junior Jake Barrett ran a season-best time of 2:03.34. On Friday night, senior Taylor Farnsworth clocked a personal best in the 10,000 with a time of 34:55.29.
Junior Jeremiah Battle had top leap of 5.63m in the long jump, giving him 20th out of 37 jumpers in his collegiate debut in the event.
Senior Iddriss Iddriss, who was the lone Mustang to compete at the George Mason Twilight meet, clocked a 1:53.34 in the 800 to take 14th out of 59 (primarily Division I) competitors. Iddriss' time currently has him tops in the conference, region and 11th best in Division III - putting him in prime position to compete at nationals.
Stevenson competes next on Wednesday, April 13 at both the York Twilight and Mondschein Multi, hosted by Kutztown.
