Box Score FREDERICK, Md. -- 17th-ranked Stevenson men's lacrosse steamrolled Hood with a 24-7 victory in midweek Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth action.
Josh Brannan was stellar for Stevenson (6-4, 2-0) with 12 points on five goals and seven assists, adding five ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers on the night. Brannan tied a single-game school record for points in a game, dating back to the 2018 season with his big night offensively.
Mitchell Lachman rifled five goals in his return to the lineup, while Nolan Enneguess and Daniel Fisher each won double-digit faceoffs for the Mustangs.
Stevenson used two big scoring stretches that created a wide margin, accounting for 20 combined goals during those runs that propelled the visitors to the conference victory. Marc Poust secured nine saves on the night, becoming the fourth player in program history with 400 career saves for the Mustangs.
Hood (5-6, 0-3) opened the scoring and led 3-2 in the first quarter. Jackson Hand and Colby Gallagher paced the Blazers with two goals each.
The Mustangs reeled off nine consecutive goals spanning into the second quarter for an 11-3 edge. Brannan, Lachman, Shane Ford, Nolan Enneguess, Lucas Ingley and Cam Leydig each found the net in the scoring onslaught that pushed Stevenson ahead for the duration.
Stevenson closed out the game with 11 unanswered goals, responding back from a solid stretch of play from Hood in the early stages of the third quarter. Hood trimmed the deficit to 13-7 before the Mustangs closed the game in a flurry.
Matt Wilson notched his first collegiate goal with his tally at 9:35 in the fourth. Andrew Searing, Matt Byron, Brannan and Matthew Schell rounded out the scoring over the final eight minutes.
