Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. - 12th-ranked York (Pa.) took control of Stevenson over the final three quarters, finishing out the 16-6 decision on Wednesday night at Mustang Stadium.
Stevenson moves to 10-6 overall and 5-2 in the conference, while York improves 12-5 overall and remains undefeated at 8-0 in conference. The victory secured the top seed in the upcoming MAC Commonwealth Tournament for the Spartans, who concluded their regular season slate on Wednesday night.
Both teams remained close in the opening frame, with Murphy scoring three goals in the first quarter for the hosts. She finished the evening with four goals on eight shots, netting her 50th goal of the season. Sophie Shucosky rounded out Stevenson's performance with 13 saves, having a strong night despite the large volume of shots she saw.
The Spartans were paced by Kiersten Blanchard's four goals, while Jenna Cholowinski and Teresa Matthias registered three goals each. Goalie #13 Bella Garabo was stout, turning aside nine Mustang shot attempts.
York gained traction during in second quarter, outscoring Stevenson 6-1 and with four unanswered to begin the frame. Matthias scored a pair of goals at the beginning of the quarter, while the Spartans opened up a five-goal cushion at the intermission. The Spartans accounted for all four goals in the third and got the running clock started just under one minute into the final stanza.

- In addition to Murphy posting her 50th goal of the season, she moved up to a tie for third in single-season program history with 75 points. Murphy is now nine points from second on the single-season points list.
- Murphy is seventh on the Stevenson single-season goals list, surpassing her 2019 total of 49 goals on Wednesday night.
- Murphy moved into a tie for fourth on the all-time assists list at Stevenson, along with Marissa Meiklejohn and Olivia Monteiro with 56 career helpers.
- The Mustangs went just 15-for-20 on clearing attempts, committing 14 turnovers on the night as York started to take possession for large chunks of the contest.
- Shuckosky, the reigning MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week, logged her fourth consecutive contest with 10 or more saves. Shucosky is just eight saves shy of 250 for her career at Stevenson.
- Annee Kopecky added a pair of caused turnovers for Stevenson on the defensive end.
- York held Stevenson scoreless from the 6:55 mark in the second to 3:25 in the fourth, using smothering defense while taking control of the contest.
- YCP increases its lead in the all-time series to 6-5.
