Box Score 2 OWINGS MILLS, Md.- The Stevenson University softball team dropped two against No. 2 Salisbury on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The Mustangs fell, 9-0 in five innings and 6-0 against the Seagulls.
No. 2, Salisbury showed their power over the Mustangs winning, 9-0 in five innings. The first three innings were scoreless. Stevenson got their lone hit of the game in the first inning as Jordan Fangman singled to the shortstop.
Salisbury put up their first two runs in the fourth innings following a two-run homer to left center. The Mustangs managed to get out the inning with a double play. The top of the fifth, the Seagulls really gained their momentum scoring seven runs to end the game in five innings. Three strikeouts for Stevenson in the bottom of the fifth sealed their fate.
Game 1 Notes:
- Fangman went 1 for 2.
- Kat Perea and McKenzie Tobler recorded a double play.
- Jenna Sadowski receives the loss in the circle falling, 4-4 on the season.
- The Salisbury pitcher, Lindsey Windsor earned her 13th win of the season in the circle.
The Mustangs were again overpowered by the Seagulls in game two as Stevenson recorded four hits in seven innings. The Mustangs recorded their first hit in the first inning as Fangman singled to the shortstop. In the second, Rebecca Henry singled to shortstop and then advanced on a ground out to third base.
Salisbury recorded their first run in the top of the third and then three more runs in the fifth inning. The Seagulls added two more runs in the final inning with a home run to center field.
Game 2 Notes:
- Marissa Heuer pitched a complete game, striking out two.
- Edwards went 1 for 2 with a double.
- Fangman went 1 for 3.
Stevenson is back in conference play for mid-week action on Wednesday, April 27th at 3 PM.
