No. 15 Mustangs Breeze Past Albright; Lock Up Postseason Spot

Box Score

READING, Pa. -- 15th-ranked Stevenson men's lacrosse stormed out of the gate and did not look back in handling Albright with a convincing 29-7 victory on Saturday, clinching a berth in the upcoming Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth Tournament.

Stevenson (11-4, 6-0) pushed its winning streak to seven games, scoring seven goals in the opening quarter alone as part of the blowout win. Josh Brannan set a new single-game school record with 10 goals and 13 points, outscoring Albright (4-10, 0-6) himself and notching his 100th career point.

Brannan previously tied the single-game school record with 12 points earlier this season against Alvernia, helping Stevenson to a season-high scoring output.

Stevenson utilized 11 goal scorers on the afternoon, with Matt Byron (2), Andrew Searing (2), and Grant Zick (3) also posting multiple goals in addition to Brannan's big day. Shane Ford dealt out seven assists, just one shy of tying a single-game program mark, while Jack Scaliti, Ryan Quinn and Matt Wilson all logged multiple caused turnovers.

The Mustangs scored 11 unanswered tallies to begin the game, using another five-goal run in the second quarter in building a 17-1 advantage at the intermission.

Marc Poust made three saves on four shots before Paul DiFluri, Justin Scorese and Logan Moore closed out the game in goal for the Mustangs.

Stevenson maintained its comfortable lead in the second half with Brannan netting four consecutive goals in the third. Nolan Enneguess scored a goal for the eighth game in a row as Stevenson had another overwhelming effort at the faceoff dot. Enneguess collected 14 victories and Daniel Fisher nabbed 12 wins at the dot.

Working in a variety of lineup combinations, the Mustangs rounded out the conference win with the final four goals of the day. Will Riemenschneider, Jack McKenna and Jimmy Byrne all posted their first collegiate goals as part of the fourth quarter flurry for the Mustangs.

Jacob Cunningham had two goals for Albright, while Ethan Hendershott made 11 saves in goal.
