Box Score SALISBURY, Md. -- No. 18 Stevenson men's lacrosse used a late scoring flurry in a game of runs against No. 2 Salisbury, ultimately falling by a 15-12 count to the Sea Gulls on Wednesday night.
Stevenson (4-4) provided one of the toughest challenges to date for unbeaten Salisbury (11-0), going back and forth with the Sea Gulls throughout the night. The Mustangs, who were impressive in stretches, ended the third quarter with momentum and had a late run of consecutive goals.
Ryan Coleman posted four points on three goals and one assist, with Josh Brannan adding three goals for the Mustangs, including a nifty behind-the-back rebound chance in the fourth quarter.
Marc Poust snared 14 saves on the night for Stevenson as Matt Wilson picked up three ground balls with three caused turnovers.
Salisbury had contributions from throughout the lineup and used a decisive seven-goal spurt that spanned late into the second quarter. Logan Posner padded out six assists, with Cross Ferrara notching four goals. In total, six Sea Gulls picked up multiple points and Ham McParland went 20-of-28 at the faceoff dot.
Coleman fired home an unassisted marker at 2:16 of the first for a 3-2 Stevenson lead before Salisbury roared back with its decisive run. The Mustangs scored four of the final five goals in the third quarter, getting back to within striking distance at 12-9 before the hosts quickly worked their advantage back to 15-9.
Shane Ford picked up a pair of goals for Stevenson with Nolan Enneguess, Cam Leydig, Jack Scaliti and Griffin Gast also figuring into the goal column.

- Stevenson led twice on the night, coming after the first goal and again at 2:16 of the opening quarter.
- Poust jumped to fourth on the Stevenson all-time saves list, passing Ian Bolland (389) and increasing his career total to 394.
- The second quarter run ultimately handed Salisbury an advantage it would not relinquish. The Sea Gulls posted a 10-4 edge in ground balls and a 14-6 margin in shots during the second quarter.
