First Half
The Pacers opened the scoring with a three pointer on a fastbreak from Trevor Seitz before the Mustangs went on to score the next 12 points. Evenly paced scoring took the teams nearly to the half as graduate student and guard McKale Williams sent the teams into the break with a layup that gave the Mustangs the lead, 41-34.
Second Half
The biggest lead of the second half came for the Mustangs as graduate student and guard Conner Walsh sank a three, making the score 57-51. Late in the half, a jumper from Marywood's Corey Perkins gave the Pacers a 71-69 lead before the Mustangs' senior guard KJ Holton knocked down two free throws to send the game into overtime.
Overtime One
The Mustangs had a three-point lead thanks to Holton with six seconds remaining. But the Pacers' Jason Holman hit a three-point buzzer-beater to tie the game once again at 81-81
Overtime Two
Steals by junior guard Ethan Jones and Williams early in the period helped secure the lead and kept the ball out of the Pacers' hands. A foul by Marywood's Caleb Vigil sent Williams to the free throw line to sink both shots and seal the game for the Mustangs, 91-87.
With the victory, the Mustangs improve on the good start to the season, moving to 4-1. They are next in action Saturday, Nov. 26 as they host Gallaudet University, with tip-off set for 2 p.m. The Marywood Pacers fall to 2-2, and next take the court Tuesday, Nov. 22 as they travel to Scranton, Penn., to take on Wilkes College at 7 p.m.
