OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Stevenson men's soccer finished on top in a dominating fashion Saturday evening at Mustang Stadium, shutting out the Albright Lions 6-0. Stevenson improves to 3-5-5 overall and 2-1 in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC Commonwealth), while Albright College falls to 1-8-2 overall and 0-3 in conference play.

Edson DeMata Ribeiro netted three of the six goals for the Mustangs, earning his first hat trick of the season. Junior forward

Will Earhart also notched their first goals of the season.
The Mustangs established their lead by getting on the board early with the first goal from DeMata Ribeiro coming in the fifth minute. Following another attempt by the junior forward in the seventh minute, the Lions' junior forward John Villano attempted a shot in the 11
th minute. The remainder of the half saw three more attempts from the Mustangs all being saved by Lion first-year goalkeeper Cooper Walters.
Stevenson started the second half hot, notching three goals within 10 minutes. DeMata Ribeiro's second and third goals came in the 47
th and 53
rd minute. Senior forward
Tiago Silva netted a shot in the 54
th minute off a penalty kick, and junior forward
Samuel Diaz earned his first goal of the season in the 57
th minute.
The end of the second half saw the Mustangs making wholesale substitutions, as well as several saves by SU senior goalkeeper
Kristian Slaby. The Mustangs remained unbeatable, with an attempt in the 58
th minute by junior midfielder
Andy Portillo that did not get past Walters.. With less than 10 minutes left on the clock, the Mustangs added a the exclamation point with a final goal in the 82nd minute by Earhart, also his first of the season. The Mustangs made two more attempts in the final minutes, but were unable to get past the Lions' sophomore goalkeeper Chris Denholm.
