Wysokowski makes career-high 13 saves in loss to No. 2 Messiah

Owings Mills, Md. - After a postponement due to weather, Stevenson women's soccer lost 6-0 to No. 2-ranked Messiah University Wednesday evening at Shoemaker Field.
 
Messiah wasted no time getting on the board, scoring all but one goal in the first 20 minutes of the game. Senior midfielder Kylie Firestone netted the first goal at 2:58. 
 
The Mustangs pressed in the 53rd minute when first-year forward Kamille Purcell, followed by senior forward Samantha Wilson, registered Stevenson's lone shots on goal. Later in the 79th minute, first-year forward Caitlyn Bridgers fired a shot wide. Messiah's Kenzie Spodnik scored the Falcons' final goal, making it 6-0 at 87:35.
 
Stevenson's junior goalkeeper Courtney Wysokowski notched a career-high 13 saves. 
 
Following the loss, Stevenson fell to 1-8-2. Their next match is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 8 as they face Albright College for Senior Day at Mustang Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m. Messiah improved to 9-0-2 and is scheduled to face Alvernia University on Saturday, Oct. 8. 
 
Note: All Stevenson women's soccer home games will be played at Mustang Stadium for the remainder of the season.
