Women’s soccer struggles offensively in 1-0 loss to Salisbury

Owings Mills, Md. – Stevenson women's soccer team could not get the offense going as they visited the Salisbury University Seagulls Tuesday night. 
 
The lone goal of the game was scored by Salisbury senior forward Autumn Dougherty, while Mustangs' junior goalkeeper Courtney Wysokowski tallied seven saves. 
 
The Seagulls started the attack early as they fired their first shot 38 seconds in, sailing the ball wide. Wysokowski made her first save of the night at 16:15 as a shot came in from Katy Poltrack. Salisbury scored the lone goal of the game at 32:51 from Dougherty, assisted by Kasey Lamb. 
 
The Mustangs' senior forward Samantha Wilson notched the team's only shot 38 seconds into the second half, as Salisbury first-year goalkeeper Riley Pinato made the save. Wysokowski kept the team in the game late by making two saves in the final eight minutes.
 
The Mustangs drop to 1-13-3 (0-5-2 MAC) following the loss. Stevenson rounds out the regular season on Saturday, Oct. 29, as the team travels to Alvernia University for a 7 p.m. kickoff. Salisbury improves to 8-8-1 (0-2-1 C2C). The Seagulls next travel to Christopher Newport University on Saturday, Oct. 29 for a kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m.
