OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Stevenson field hockey completed their final match at Owings Mills East on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 5-1 match to Alvernia University.

Jamie Fritz earned eight total saves on the match, saving every attempt in the first quarter.
Alvernia brought the energy early on with a shot from Brianna Burkholder, denied by Fritz.. Leakway earned her first attempt of the game off a Gladstein penalty corner in the fourth minute. Minutes later, the Golden Wolves got on the board off a penalty corner. Despite Fritz racking up the saves, the Golden Wolves got on the board again towards the end of the first quarter. The visitors secured their lead early in the second quarter, ticking another on the board just under two minutes into the quarter. After another save by Fritz, the Golden Wolves dominated with a fourth goal in the 21
st minute off a penalty corner. Leakway had a second attempt in the 23
rd minute, blocked by the Golden Wolves' defense. After another Fritz save, Alvernia rounded out the half 5-0 in the 29
th minute.
The third quarter began with effort from both sides, and Leakway pushed offensively, earning another blocked attempt. The Mustangs regained their concentration, but both teams remained scoreless in the quarter. Opening early with a penalty corner, the Mustangs scored their lone goal in the 48

Brenna Benson pushed offensively, but her shot was blocked..With five shots to the Golden Wolves' 14, the Mustangs said farewell to Owings Mills East for the regular fall 2022 season.
The Mustangs fall to 6-10 overall and 2-5 in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) play. The Golden Wolves improve to 11-5 overall and 4-2 in MAC play.
