The first half opened with both teams struggling to gain meaningful possession. The first shot came at the 10-minute mark from Widener's Madison Blackshire. 36 seconds later, Widener's Emily Schall hits the crossbar with a shot and the rebound came right to Minkle as she chipped it into the net for the game's only score. Caitlin Bridgers came close to tying the game, but her shot hit the crossbar. After the Pride fired two shots wide, Bridgers tested Pride goalkeeper Samantha Coon again, who made the save.
Following the loss, the Mustangs fall to 1-11-2 (0-4-1 MAC). They return home next to match up with York College (Pa.) on Tuesday, Oct. 18 with kickoff at 7 p.m. The Widener Pride improve to 6-4-4 (2-1-1 MAC). They next travel to Albright College on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m.
