No. 25 Stevenson Suffers First Set Back to No. 10 Delaware Valley

OWINGS MILLS, Md. --  The 25th ranked Stevenson football team (4-1, 2-1 MAC) fell to 10th ranked Delaware Valley (5-0, 3-0 MAC) 26-7 in a rain-soaked Saturday afternoon at Mustangs Stadium.

How it Happened
  • In the first drive for Stevenson, the Aggies brought pressure causing a hurried pass to be intercepted. The interception was returned to the one-yard-line setting up Louie Barrios IV for a one-yard keeper for the game's first score.
  • Stevenson put together a 10-play, 48-yard drive to set up a 41-yard field goal attempt but the ball sailed wide left.
  • The largest play of the first half came on a 49-yard Barrios pass to Tahmir Barksdale to the Stevenson 27. Barrios and Barksdale connected again for a 29-yard score and a 0-12 lead.
  • With Stevenson driving in its first possession of the second half the Aggies forced a turnover on downs to halt the Mustang momentum.
  • DelVal scored its third touchdown of the game on the ensuing drive on a Barrios pass to Jordan Collazo for the 20-yard score. The drive went 69-yards on nine plays.
  • Stevenson forced a 3-and-out before putting together a 15-play, 66-yard drive capped off by a 7-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Sedgwick to Brandon Booze.
  • DelVal responded with a 14-play drive, all on the ground, resulting in another one-yard touchdown run from Barrios.
