YORK, Pa. - The Stevenson softball team sweep MAC Commonwealth opponent York (Pa.) on Saturday at Spartan Softball Stadium. The Mustangs and the Spartans went to nine innings in game one when the score was tied, 6-6, the Mustangs scored three in the ninth inning. In game two, the Mustangs posted a strong showing in game two after Morgan Thayer homered in the fourth inning for the Mustangs to defeat the Spartans 8-5.
- WP: Morghan Fulton (5-3); LP: Shyla Pastore (3-3).
- At the top of the first inning and with two outs, Megan Hamp doubled to left center for Kat Perea and Fulton to score for Stevenson (13-5, 9-3 MACC) to lead 2-0.
- Stevenson had bases loaded when Marissa Heuer grounded out to second base for Fulton to score. Later, Hamp advanced on a wild pitch for Perea to score an unearned run.
- York (Pa.) (8-4, 8-4 MACC) Pastore and Elle Meyer each scored when Harhigh reached first on a throwing error by Jordan Fangman. Harhigh later came to score a run for the Spartans when Daphney Adams singled up the middle to come within one of the Mustangs.
- Heuer doubled to right field to get two RBIs on Hamp and Perea runs at the top of the fifth.
- The Spartans tied up the game at the bottom of the fith inning 6-6 to score three from Meyer, Harhigh, and Adams.
- The game went all the way to the ninth inning when Stevenson scored three runs. With Kayla Briles on first and Fagman on second, Fulton singled up the middle to then advance to second on a throw for Fangman to score. Perea grounded out to second base for Briles to score and to close out the scoring, Hamp grounded out to second base for Fulton to score, 9-6.
- The Mustangs held onto their 9-6 lead when the Spartans did not score at the bottom of the ninth.

- The Spartans led 2-0 at the bottom of the second with Ellie Denlinger on first, Natalie Decena tripled to right field for Denlinger to score and Meyer singled for a Decena run.
- The Mustangs took the lead at the top of the fourth inning with four runs. Sierra Stark on first after singled down the right field line, Morgan Thayer came in to hit a home run for both Mustangs to score, 2-2.
- Bases loaded of Fulton, Briles, and Fangman, Perea singled up the middle for Briles and Fangman to score and extend their lead by half, 4-2.
- Stevenson scored another four runs at the top of the fifth inning. With one out and Thayer on first and Stark on second, Maddie Bosley singled down the right field line for Stark to score.
- Fulton singled up the middle and advanced to second on a throw for Briles to score on a fielding error, and Bosley, and Thayer all to score runs, 8-2 at the top of the fifth.
- The Spartans recorded three runs at the bottom of the seventh inning, Adams doubled to center field for Harhigh and Pastore to score.
- Still with one out at the bottom of the seventh, Kaela Fritz stole second for the Spartans as Adams scored on an error.
- Five different players scored runs on the afternoon while the Mustangs totaled 27 hits.
- Bosley had two stolen bases in game two while Briles had one.
- In the picthing circle, Heuer had four picthing strikeouts with just one walk while Fulton pitched three strikeouts and two walks.
- The Mustangs collected 15 RBIs on the day, Fulton, Perea, Hamp, and Heuer each had three.
- Stevenson will travel to league-leading Alvernia on Saturday, April 10 for a 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. doubleheader before hosting Alvernia on Sunday, April 11 for Senior Day at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. at Weinberg-Fine Stadium.
