Mustangs Fall Short to No. 12 Messiah in MAC Commonwealth Semifinals

GRANTHAM, Pa. - Juniors Caroline Murphy and Mary Marc combined for five goals as the Stevenson women's lacrosse team fell short, 10-8, in an upset bid against No. 12 Messiah in the MAC Commonwealth semifinals on Thursday night at Messiah Lacrosse Turf.

  • Marc put Stevenson (10-4, 4-3 MACC) on the board first as her and Murphy connected at the 28:50 mark.
  • Hope Flack tied the game for Messiah (15-0, 8-0 MACC) when she got a pass from Makenzie Schnur just less than two minutes after the Mustangs goal.
  • Stevenson netted it's second goal as Murphy found the back of the net at 24:47, 2-1.
  • After a defensive turnover, Messiah tied the field again when Emma Lytle scored for the Falcons, 2-2.
  • The Falcons took their first lead of the game when Lytle found AbbyEllen Wood to put them up one over the Mustangs.
