Box Score GRANTHAM, Pa. - Juniors Caroline Murphy and Mary Marc combined for five goals as the Stevenson women's lacrosse team fell short, 10-8, in an upset bid against No. 12 Messiah in the MAC Commonwealth semifinals on Thursday night at Messiah Lacrosse Turf.
- Marc put Stevenson (10-4, 4-3 MACC) on the board first as her and Murphy connected at the 28:50 mark.
- Hope Flack tied the game for Messiah (15-0, 8-0 MACC) when she got a pass from Makenzie Schnur just less than two minutes after the Mustangs goal.
- Stevenson netted it's second goal as Murphy found the back of the net at 24:47, 2-1.
- After a defensive turnover, Messiah tied the field again when Emma Lytle scored for the Falcons, 2-2.
- The Falcons took their first lead of the game when Lytle found AbbyEllen Wood to put them up one over the Mustangs.
- Messiah reeled off four consecutive goals in the next seven minutes of the half.
- Kaitlyn Kozlowski scored her first goal of the game prior to Murphy netting her 48th goal of the season to come within three of the Falcons at the 5:35 mark.
- The Falcons scored two goals in a span of 57 seconds to cap the quarter of by leading, 9-4.
- Messiah opened the second half with a goal from Rachel Delate to pull away from Stevenson by six.
- Kara Yarusso scored her first goal of the day at 22:20 following a turnover by Messiah's Delate.
