ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Stevenson men's tennis team continued its undefeated run in conference play with a 7-2 victory over host Lebanon Valley. The win also clinches the top seed for the Mustangs (5-2, 4-0 MAC) in the MAC Commonwealth Championship.
Senior Ray McDermott and junior Larry Johnson III cruised to their fourth win of the year in No. 1 doubles by an 8-3 score. Junior Lukas Sanidas and senior James Waychoff improved to 5-1 on the season with a dominant 8-1 victory.
McDermott earned his sixth win of the year in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0, while sophomore Ben Porto overcame a one-set deficit to take his No. 2 match by a 4-6, 6-0, 6-2 score.
Johnson III picked up his second-straight win in No. 3, 6-2, 6-2. Sanidas moved his season record to 6-1 with a 6-1, 6-1 victory.
Waychoff won his fifth match of the year in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3.
The Mustangs close out regular season play against Alvernia on Saturday, May 1. First serve is set for 12:00 p.m. at the Stevenson Courts.
