YORK, Pa. - The Stevenson men's tennis team improved its record to 3-0 in MAC Commonwealth play after defeating host York (Pa.) by a 9-0 score.
Senior Ray McDermott and junior Larry Johnson III picked up their third win of the year in No. 1 doubles with an 8-3 victory. Senior Richie Abruscato and sophomore Ben Porto picked up another win in No. 2 with an 8-2 triumph. Sophomore Chad Smialek and senior James Waychoff shutout their No. 3 opponents, 8-0.
McDermott improved his singles record to 5-1 on the year with a 6-1, 6-1 win, while Porto cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win in No. 2. Johnson III shut out his No. 3 opponent by the same 6-0, 6-0 score.
Junior Lukas Sanidas improved his singles record to 5-1 with a 6-0, 6-2 victory in No. 5. Waychoff picked up his fourth win of the year by a 6-0, 6-0 score.
The Mustangs will look to remain undefeated in conference play when they travel to Lebanon Valley on Wednesday, April 28. First serve is set for 3:00 p.m.
