READING, Pa. - The Stevenson softball team split with league-leading Alvernia on Saturday afternoon. Falling to the Golden Wolves in game one, 3-1, and defeating Alvernia 13-10 in game two while junior Jordan Fangman lead the Mustangs with four runs and one RBI.
- WP: Riley Shields (8-0); LP: Morghan Fulton (5-4).
- Alvernia (13-3, 13-3 MACC) got two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning when Kersten Koeing reached second on a field error for Alyssa Acker to score, 1-0.
- Koeing later scored in the fourth inning for the Golden Wolves when Paige Paciolla signled to shortstop to lead 2-0.
- Stevenson (14-6, 10-4 MACC) cut the lead in half after Kayla Briles stole second and Fulton doubled to right center for Briles to score at the top of the sixth.
- At the bottom of the sixth, Riley Shields reached first on a fielder's choice to shortstop for Maggie Loomis to score, 3-1.
- WP: Marissa Heuer (7-0); LP: Ally Decker (5-2).
- At the top of the first, Fulton and Kat Perea each flied out to right field and left field on sac flies for Jordan Fangman and Briles to score, 2-0.
- At the bottom of the first inning, Alvernia took the lead, 3-2, as Acker doubled down the left field line for Sarah Reinhart to score and later grounded out to first base and Loomis scored and to cap the runs, Acker scored on a Sara Campbell singled to the pitcher.
- The Mustangs took back their lead at the top of the third inning, 5-3. Fangman scored her second run of the game when Fulton singled to left field and advanced to second on a throw.
- Later, when Kat Perea reached on a fielder's choice, Perea stole second and Fulton stole home to score. Capping the inning for the Mustangs was Heuer doubling to left center for a Perea run.
- With two outs at the top of the fourth and with Briles and Fangman on bases, Perea tripled for two runs scored by Briles and Fangman.
- Maddie Bosley tripled in the fifth inning, for Morgan Thayer and Sierra Stark to score. Next, Fangman singled through the left side for Bosley to score, 10-3.
- The league-leading Golden Wolves got back within two, 9-11, of the Mustangs at the bottom of the fifth when Devan Hudson, Koeing, Reinhart, Nicole August, and Loomis all scored.
- The Mustangs scored three runs in the seventh inning and with just one out and bases loaded, Fulton singled to left field for Bosley to score her second run of the game. Next, Perea walked and Fangman scored her fourth and final run of the game. To cap the inning, Megan Hamp walked for Briles to score, 13-9.
- Alvernia scored one run at the bottom of the seventh when Koeing advanced to third on a wild pitch and Paciolla scored but it wasn't enough to defeat the Mustangs 13 runs.
- The Mustangs totaled 13 RBI's on the day.
- Stevenson had 17 hits while eight different players had hits.
- Five players walked in game two.
- Perea and Bosley tripled in game two.
- Perea totaled four RBI's while Fulton had three.
- The Mustangs host Alvernia on Sunday, April 11 at Weinberg-Fine Stadium for a conference doubleheader at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. The Mustangs will honor their seniors after the completion of game two.
