FREDERICK, Md. - The Stevenson softball team earned a split on Sunday afternoon against Hood College. The Mustangs deafeated the Blazers in game one, 13-2, and fell to Hood in game two, 9-2.

- At the bottom of the first, Hood (1-3) put runners on first and second with two outs to open the game. Gosline scored on a Bortner single to center field.
- The Mustangs (3-1) recorded three runs on two outs, Kat Perea doubled to left field, following a Sierra Stark single to left field to send Perea in for Mustang run, Megan Hamp homered to center field for her and Stark to score one run each for Stevenson at the top of the second., 3-1.
- In the top of the third inning, with Fulton on second after a base steal, Heuer singled to center field for Fulton to score one run for the Mustangs, 4-1. Heuer, Perea, Stark, Hamp, Jordan Fangman, Maddie Bosley, and Kayla Briles each scored at the top of the third inning for the Mustangs
- At the bottom of the third inning, Hood had players on second and third, with Bortner reaching first on an error, Schipske scored an unearned run for the Blazers.
- Stevenson scored eight runs on eight hits in the third inning to take a 13-2 lead.
- The Mustangs scored two runs on three hits. Stevenson had bases loaded when Bosley singled to left field to send Perea and Emma DeCarli.

- Hood scored the first run of the game, A Schipske run after Bortner singled to center field, 0-1.
- Hamp tied the game in the third inning after Bosley tripled to center field for the Mustangs, 1-1.
- Following a Hamp run, Fangman grounded out for Bosley to score one Stevenson run, 2-1.
- The Mustangs had two on bases with two outs but left both runners on base after a ground out in the fourth inning.
- Hood scored eight runs on nine hits in the fifth inning. 2-9.
- Briles got on base at the beginning of the seventh inning with two outs but left her one base with a flied out to right field to end the game, 2-9.
- The Mustangs totaled 14 RBI's in both games.
- Stevenson finished with 23 combined hits.
- Hamp had three RBI's in game one, while Bosley, Stark, and Fulton each had two.
- The visitors had nine different players score runs for the Mustangs, Perea and Hamp each had three runs on the afternoon.
- The Mustangs will have two sets of doubleheaders next weekend. On Saturday, March 13, the Mustangs travel to Messiah for games set at 1:00 p.m and 3:00 p.m. at Starry Softball Field before hosting the Falcons on Sunday, March 14 at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. at Weinberg-Fine Stadium.
