STEVENSON, Md. - The Stevenson men's tennis team opened its regular season with a 9-0 win over Arcadia at the Greenspring Courts.
The Mustangs opened up play by taking all three of the doubles matches (one by default). Senior Ray McDermott and sophomore Ben Porto took down their No. 1 opponents by an 8-2 score, while senior Richie Abruscato and junior Larry Johnson III won in No. 2 by an 8-1 margin.
McDermott won his No. 1 singles match in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0. Porto, who also won in straight sets, took his match by a 6-1, 6-3 score.
Abruscato (No. 4) and junior Lukas Sanidas (No. 5) dominated their opponents by the same 6-0, 6-0 score, while Johnson picked up his first singles win of the year in No. 3, 6-1, 6-2.
Stevenson won in No. 6 singles by default.
The Mustangs (1-0) travel to DeSales for their next match, which takes place on Saturday, April 3 at 11:00 a.m.
