HOBOKEN, N.J. - Host Stevens Institute of Technology downed No. 15 Stevenson University 3-1 in Middle Atlantic Conference men's volleyball Wednesday evening at Canavan Arena.  Set scores were 25-19, 25-18, 17-25, 25-23.

• Stevenson (9-2, 9-2 MAC) trailed 9-6 early but scored four straight points to take a 10-9 lead on a Logan Smiley kill.
• After four ties, the Ducks (6-3, 6-3 MAC) used a 7-2 run to build a 20-15 lead.
• The Mustangs cut the lead to four three times, but a Stevens service ace closed out the set.

• After three early ties, the Ducks built an 11-7 lead.
• Leading 13-10, Stevens scored seven of the next nine points to open up a 20-13 advantage.
• An Aidan O'Brien kill followed by a Duck setting error cut the lead to 20-15, but the Mustangs got no closer the rest of the set.

• Stevenson never trailed in the third set and opened up a 10-6 lead.
• The Mustangs gradually increased their lead and went up nine, 18-9, on a block by Aleks Melbardis and O'Brien.
• The Ducks scored four of the next five points to cut the lead to six, but a service ace by Smiley ended that run.
• A Michael Dougherty service ace, a Smiley kill and a Stevens attack error closed out the set.

• Stevens appeared poised to put away the match, leading 7-2 early and maintained at least a three-point lead most of the set.
• The Ducks went up 23-17 following a Chris Carseveld kill.
• Stevenson reeled off the next six points to tie the match 23-23 on a block by Melbardis and O'Brien.
• Back-to-back kills by Smiley opened the run, while Grant Nelson also had a service ace.
• The hosts responded with back-to-back kills to close out the match.

• Smiley paced Stevenson with 14 kills on the evening.
• Melbardis posted 12 kills and added five total blocks.
• O'Brien hit .385 and chipped in with seven kills and five blocks.
• Nelson handed out 40 assists and also led Stevenson in digs with eight.
• Stevenson hit .125 for the match with the Ducks hitting .165.

• Stevenson returns to action Saturday when it hosts Arcadia in a 1 pm MAC doubleheader at Owings Mills Gymnasium.
