ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Stevenson softball team picked up it's fifth and sixth straight wins on Saturday afternoon against MAC Commonwealth opponent Lebanon Valley. The Mustangs defeated the Dutchmen in game one, 5-2, and in game two, 13-5.
- WP: Haley Monahan (2-1); LP: Jordan Walter (1-2).
- Stevenson (9-3, 6-2 MACC) earned two runs at the top of the first inning, Jordan Fangman stole second, Kayla Briles singled to the catcher for Fangman to advance to third to later score on a throwing error.
- Briles was on second before she stole to third, Morghan Fulton grounded out to the center, for Briles on an unearned run, 2-0.
- At the top of the fourth inning and with one out, Perea on second and Fulton on third, Sierra Stark singled to right field for Perea to score and Fulton to score an unearned run, 4-0.
- At the bottom of the fourth, Lebanon Valley (3-3, 3-3 MACC) had two outs before Lindsey McCurdy and Kylie Balthaser scored on unearned runs to come within two of Stevenson.
- Briles started off the sixth inning for the Mustangs as she stole to second, Fulton later doubled to center field for Briles to score to end game one, 5-2.
- WP: Fulton (4-1), LP: Emma Kelliher (0-1).
- Starting off game two, Perea tripled to the right center to land on third base for Megan Hamp to ground out to short stop for Perea to score the Mustangs first run of the game, 1-0.
- The Mustangs, 3-0, at the top of the third, Fangman scored on a Briles triple to center field. Later, Fulton flied out to center field for Briles to earn a run, 3-0.
- Stevenson earned four runs in the fourth inning to hold the Dutchmen scorelss in game two. With two outs and bases loaded, Emilee Strickland scored on a wild pitch leading to Fangman and Maddie Bosley to each score runs on a Briles double to left center.
- With Briles on second base, Fulton singled to left field for a Briles unearned run, 7-0.
- Lebanon Valley put three runs on the board when Balthaser scored on a Tori Hunyara single up the middle. Sarah Musselman was on third when McCurdy flied out to center field for Musselman to score. Still with two outs, the Dutchmen scored their third and final run of the fifth inning when Alyssa Hamilton doubled down the right field line for Tori Hunyara to record a run to come within four of Stevenson.
- The Mustangs scored six runs at the top of the sixth inning, totaling two outs and Hamp on first and Faith Rhodes on second, Stark singled up center field for Rhodes to score her second run of the season. When McKenzie Tobler walked to first, Hamp scored. Later followed by Stark and Alex DiGrande earned runs, 13-3.
- The Dutchmen earned to runs at the bottom of the sixth with bases loaded when Hunyara tripled to right center for Hannah Bashore and Mandi Armstrong scored.
- The Mustangs totaled 16 RBI's on the afternoon.
- Fangman and Briles each had three RBI's in game two.
- Stevenson finished with 21 combined hits.
- Briles has 12 of Stevenson's 16 stolen bases on the season.
- Fulton has recorded 21 pictching strikeouts in her five games in the circle.
- Stevenson will host MAC Freedom's Arcadia in a doubleader on Saturday, March 27 at Weinberg-Fine Stadium set for 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
- The Mustangs will travel to Arcadia on Sunday, March 28 for a doubelheader at Blankley Field at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
