Box Score YORK, Pa. - The Stevenson men's lacrosse team went on an, 8-1, run over a 21:02 span, including holding York (Pa.) scoreless in the second quarter as the Mustangs upset the sixth-ranked Spartans with a, 12-11, victory Saturday afternoon at Kinsley Field.
- The Spartans (2-1) took advantage early, scoring on the first possession of the game and the first shot of the game following a face-off violation by the visitors.
- Dylan Wolf netted his second goal of the game to give the hosts a, 2-0, lead after picking up a ground ball after an initial save by senior Marc Poust in net.
- After committing turnovers on their first four possessions, the Mustangs (1-1) recorded their first shot on the fifth offensive try before going on the extra-man for the first time.
- Stevenson went back on the man-advantage, this time for one minute, and sophomore Ryan Coleman got the visitors on the board on an assist from junior Will Smith.
- Just 40 seconds later, Coleman netted his second goal of the game to get the Mustangs within one, as Stevenson drew another extra-man opportunity following the goal.
- Sophomore Cam Leydig tied the game with an extra-man goal with 3:14 remaining in the opening quarter, picking up an assist from senior Ethan Christensen.
- Christensen netted the fourth goal for Stevenson in a 4:06 span to give the Mustangs their first lead of the game at, 4-3, behind the third straight face-off win by junior Shiloh Shassian.
- The Spartans leveled the game at, 4-4, with 1:12 left in the quarter.
- On the fourth extra-man opportunity, the Mustangs scored their third extra-man goal as senior Jacob Tatum scored his first goal of the game on a helper from Christensen to reclaim the lead.
- Tatum gave the visitors a two-goal lead 1:05 later before sophomore Josh Brannan pushed the lead to, 7-4, with 5:19 remaining.
- Stevenson outshot the Spartans, 10-9, in the quarter after being outshot in the opening quarter.
- The Mustangs started the second half on the man-up and converted just 16 seconds into the quarter as Christensen found the back of the net for the fourth extra-man goal of the afternoon.
- York snapped the 4-0 run by Stevenson as goaltender, Jack Michael, ran the length of the field to score for the hosts.
- Tatum and Brendan O'Sullivan each scored twice for the two team's the rest of the period, with Taum scoring a man-up goal to give the visitors a three goal lead heading into the final quarter.
- The Spartans scored three straight goals in the quarter, to tie the game at 10-10, with the third goal coming by O'Sullivan with 6:55 remaining.
- After a save by Poust, the Mustangs cleared the ball into the offensive side, before calling timeout with 4:01 remaining.

- The Mustangs won the ensuing face-off before both team's committed turnovers and Stevenson was able to run out the clock for the victory.
- York outshot Stevenson, 44-30, including 15-13 in the second half.
- The Mustangs finished 5-for-6 on man-up opportunities while the Spartans were 0-for-3.
- With the win, Stevenson snaps a three-game losing streak to York and improves to 4-0 all-time at York.

- For the second consecutive game Tatum netted four goals and now has a point in 32 consecutive games.
- Christensen finished with five points on two goals and three assists and became the eighth player in program history to record 200 points.

- In net, Poust finished with 12 saves, marking the sixth time in his career he has totaled at least 10 and second straight to begin the season.
