Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Five different players finished with at least five kills as the No. 11 Stevenson University men's volleyball team opened Middle Atlantic Conference play with a 3-0 win over Widener Saturday afternoon at Owings Mills Gymnasium. Set scores were 25-21, 25-16, 25-14.
- Stevenson (9-4, 1-0 MAC) jumped out to a 9-2 lead following a Logan Smiley service ace and a Widener (3-3, 0-2) error.
- The Pride used a 9-4 run to pull within two, 13-11.
- Leading 16-14, the Mustangs reeled off six straight points to build a 22-14 lead.
- Kyle Bosko had a service ace and Nate Reynolds had a kill during the run.
- Widener made another push and cut it to three, 23-20.
- A service error by the Pride closed out the first set.
- After four early ties, Stevenson rattled off five straight points to go up 9-5 on a Tanner Stauffer kill.
- The Mustangs extended the lead to 13-7 on two kills by Smiley that sandwiched a Michael Dougherty service ace.
- The hosts led by as many as 10 in the set and a kill by Jack Hrvatin closed things out.
