20th-Ranked Mustangs Drop Season Opener at No. 15 Ursinus

COLLEGVILLE, Pa. - Stevenson men's lacrosse senior Ethan Christensen scored the game-tying goal with 2:00 remaining in regulation but 15th-ranked Ursinus scored a man-up goal with 12 seconds left to lift the hosts over the 20th-ranked Mustangs in the season opener for both teams Saturday afternoon at Patterson Field.

  • The Mustangs (0-1) scored on the game's opening possession as sophomore Josh Brannan found the back of the net on the first shot of the day. Sophomore Cam Leydig had the assist.
  • Junior Jacob Tatum made it, 2-0, in favor of the visitors, scoring his first goal of the season at the 10:03 mark.
  • Trailing, 3-1, the Bears (1-0) went on a 4-1 run to end the first quarter with a, 5-4, lead.
  • Christensen scored unassisted while Tatum netted his second on an assist from sophomore Ryan Coleman.

  • Ursinus scored twice in the opening 5:19 of the quarter to push the hosts lead to, 7-4.
