REISTERSTOWN, Md. - The nation's best scoring offense netted six unanswered goals, including four power play goals, as second-ranked Geneseo posted a 6-1 non-conference victory over the 10th-ranked Stevenson men's ice hockey team Friday evening at Reisterstown Sportsplex.

• After back and forth play to start the contest, the Mustangs (10-2-0) got the first advantage of the game after an interference call against the visitors.
• Stevenson never really got its power play settled in the offense zone and saw its lone shot attempt blocked.
• The Knights (11-2-1) had their first man advantage with 4:15 remaining in the opening period but freshman Ryan Kenny made three saves.
• Geneseo held a 12-4 advantage in shots during the opening frame, including the last eight shots.

• The Mustangs had their second power play opportunity early in the period and connecting at the 4:27 mark.
• Sophomore Luke Benitez tipped in a goal in front of the net after a shot from the point by junior Aaron Murray. Senior Nick Gray registered the secondary assist.
• Just 13 seconds later, the Knights tied the game Alex Wilkins sent the puck through the neutral zone to Tyson Empey who sent a wrister past Kenny.
• Geneseo took the lead just 1:22 into its next power play attempt before scoring an even strength goal 2:54 later.

• The Knights started the period on the power play after the hosts were whistled for a penalty at the end of the period.
• Geneseo converted just 41 second into the period to extend its lead to 4-1.
• The hosts had a five-on-three power play for 18 seconds but it last just four as the Mustangs were called for their own penalty.
• Later in the period, the Knights had a five-minute power play, including a five-on-three for two minutes with Conlan Keenan scoring on the two-man advantage.
• The visitors scored its third power play goal of the period with 2:25 remaining.

• Geneseo outshot Stevenson, 30-15, the lowest shot total for the Mustangs this season.
• The Knights finished 4-for-8 on the power play while the Mustangs were 1-for-4.
• The visitors won 45 of the 79 face-offs with senior Dominic Brenza winning a team-high 13.
• Stevenson's win streak was snapped at eight, a program record, while its one goal was a season low.

• Stevenson concludes its seven-game home stand on Saturday, January 11 when the Mustangs host a non-conference game versus Brockport beginning at 3:00 p.m.
