ASTON, Pa. – The No. 2 seeded Stevenson men's ice hockey team fell to the No. 1 seeded Neumann Knights, 5-4, in overtime in the MAC Championship on Saturday night.
Neumann opened the contest with three straight goals spanning the first period and the first five minutes of the second. Keenan Schneider put Stevenson on the board at the 10:16 mark of the second period off assists from Ryan Arendes and Gage Parillo. The Mustangs continued to rally with back-to-back power-play goals from Matt Yeager and Matt Gough, tying the game at 3-3 heading into the third period.
In the third, Caden Smith gave Stevenson its first lead of the night with an unassisted goal at the 13:19 mark. The Knights answered three minutes later to even the score at 4-4 and force overtime.
In the extra period, Neumann netted the game-winner at the 9:16 mark to secure the MAC Championship title.
Eight Mustangs recorded at least one point in the contest, while Ford DeLoss made 30 saves in net.
Stevenson concludes the 2025–26 season as the MAC Tournament runner-up and will now shift its focus to offseason recovery and preparation for the 2026–27 campaign.
