Tatum, Leydig Lead Mustangs To Win at Widener

CHESTER, Pa. - Led by sophomore Jacob Tatum's five goals and four by freshman Cam Leydig, the Stevenson University men's lacrosse team doubled up Widener University 18-9 in a MAC Commonwealth contest Friday night at Quick Stadium.

  • Stevenson (7-6, 5-0 MAC Commonwealth) got on the board just over a minute in on an unassisted goal by JT Thelen.
  • The Mustangs extended their lead to 4-0 on goals by Josh Brannan (13:10), Ryan Coleman (10:42) and Tatum (8:58).
  • Widener (4-9, 3-2 MAC Commonwealth) got on the board on a Kenneth Watts goal with 8:44 left in the opening frame.
  • Just eight seconds later, Lewis Anania scored to give the Mustangs a 5-1 lead.
  • Gray McKee scored at exactly 7:30 for Stevenson's sixth goal.
  • Leydig notched back-to-back goals at 4:40 and 1:38.
  • The Pride scored with 10 seconds left to make it 8-2 after one.

  • Ethan Christensen became Stevenson's eighth different goal scorer 2:15 into the second to make it a 9-2 game.
