OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Fifth-ranked York (Pa.) limited 20th-ranked Stevenson to two goals in each half as it posted a 12-4 non-conference men's lacrosse victory in the second round of the Mustang Classic Saturday night at Mustang Stadium.

• Stevenson (1-5) took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Lewis Anania at the 10:23 mark.
• Eric Ranck tied the game for York (7-1) 59 seconds later.
• The Spartans took a 2-1 lead with 1:17 to play in the quarter.
• On the ensuing faceoff the Mustangs were whistled for a penalty but killed off the one-minute man-down situation.
• The guests led 2-1 after one quarter.
• Stevenson goalie Sam Ross had 10 saves in the quarter.

• Stevenson killed off another minute-long man-down situation just under the 10-minute mark.
• Brendan McGrath scored for York with just under three minutes to go to make it a 3-1 game.
• Freshman Shane Ford recorded his first collegiate goal for Stevenson at the 1:05 mark to pull the hosts within 3-2.  Connor Nelson assisted on the tally.
• The Mustangs had three shots in the final 19 seconds during a man-up opportunity, including one on target, but it remained a one-goal game at intermission.

• The Spartans got goals from Eric Ranck at 13:45 and Brad Casale at 11:27 to extend their lead to 5-2.
• York had three goals in a span of 51 seconds, including two by Hunter Davis, to make it an 8-2 game at the 5:55 mark.
• Jacob Tatum stopped York's run with a goal off an assist by Nelson with 2:46 left in the quarter.
• Another goal by Tatum, this one unassisted, with 28 seconds left in the quarter, made it an 8-4 game.

• JT Thelen and Ethan Christensen got shots on goal during a man-up opportunity that began with 11:55 on the clock, but both were turned away by Spartan goalie Jack Michael.
• The Spartans salted the game away with three goals in a span of 1:21 that made it 11-4 following a Thomas Pfeiffer tally.
• Ames Clark closed out the scoring for York with just under a minute to go.

• The Spartans held a 42-33 shot advantage on the night.
• York won 12 of 20 faceoffs and picked up 33 ground balls to Stevenson's 27.
• Ross matched his season high with 15 saves.
• Nelson's two assists were the first two points of the freshman's collegiate career.
• Tatum led the Mustangs with nine shots.
• Dominic DeFazio and Jimmy Case each had two caused turnovers.
• Dylan Harris had a team-high four ground balls.
• Neither team converted an extra-man opportunity, with Stevenson going 0-3 and holding the Spartans to 0-5.
