DALLAS, Pa. - The seventh-ranked Stevenson University men's volleyball team weathered being stuck on the highway for three hours to get off the bus and sweep a pivotal Middle Atlantic Conference tri-match over first-year program Eastern University and the host Misericordia University both by 3-0 scorelines on Friday night at the Anderson Center.

• Set scores were 25-13, 25-14, and 25-11.
• Stevenson (13-3, 3-1 MAC) got out to a first start with a kill an ace for senior Landon Shorts giving the team a 3-1 lead.
• Eastern (4-4, 0-4 MAC) closed to within one when freshman Tanner Stauffer committed an attack error to make it 4-3.
• The Mustangs used scores from senior Jason Gardner, junior Nathan Bosse, and sophomore Logan Smiley to go on an 8-2 run to open up a 12-5 edge which led to an Eagles timeout.
• Kills for junior Kyle Bosko and Gardner extended the advantage to nine 16-7.
• Three Eastern errors and points earned off the hands of Smiley and Bosko made it 20-8.
• The Eagles outscored the Mustangs the remainder of the set 6-5, but it would not be enough as Stevenson took the first 25-14.
• Eastern got off to a better start in the second as the two sides split the opening eight points to be locked at 4-4.
• Scores by Bosko, Shorts, and Gardner were equaled by kills for Nicholas Hulbert, Anthony Smith, and Cameron Parsons to keep things close 9-8 Stevenson.
• The Mustangs began to take control using kills for Gardner and Smiley along with four Eagles errors to snag a 16-9 lead.
• A kill for Darren Lopez pulled Eastern to within six 18-12.
• However, they would get no closer with kills for Bosko and Gardner, along with a solo block for Shorts and ace by Smiley capped a 7-2 gallop to end set number two 25-14.
• In the third, the Mustangs took an early 4-1 lead getting points from Shorts, Gardner, sophomore Nate Reynolds, and graduate student Christian Taylor.
• Stevenson continued to distance themselves from the Eagles with kills for Bosko, Shorts, Gardner, coupled with aces for Shorts, Gardner and a combination block between Gardner and Reynolds to extend the advantage to 11-5.
• Eastern cut the deficit by one scoring three of the next five points on kills for Lopez and Hulbert made it 12-7.
• The Mustangs closed the set and match on a 13-4 run using scores from Short, Reynolds, Stauffer, Bosko, and sophomore Garrett Weigel to wrap up a 25-11 victory.
• Stevenson hit .440 as a team to Eastern's .082.
• The Mustangs totaled 11 blocks while the Eagles posted just one.
• The service game favored Stevenson with a 14-1 edge in aces.
• Gardner led the Mustangs with seven kills, two digs, two aces, and two blocks.
• Bosko added six kills, an ace, and a block.
• Shorts and Smiley each chipped in five kills.
• Taylor had a game-high 20 assists.
• For the Eagles, Lopez led all players with 10 kills.

• Set scores were 25-10, 25-17, and 25-22.
• Stevenson (14-3, 4-1 MAC) jumped on the home team early in the first set as kills for Reynolds, Smiley, and Gardner gave them a 7-2 lead.
• The Mustangs extended the edge out to double-digits at 14-4 thanks to scores from Smiley, Bosko, Reynolds, along with a combination block between Shorts and Reynolds.
• Misericordia (9-8, 2-3 MAC) from that point on never cut the deficit to below ten as a service error for Billy Murphy finished the opening frame 25-10.  
• Starting the second it was another quick start for Stevenson with kills from Shorts, Gardner and a joint block by Gardner and Reynolds gave the guests a 5-1 edge.
• The Cougars cut the margin to three with a kill by Jordan Spidle bringing it down to 6-3.
• Kills for Bosko, Shorts, and Gardner continued to hold the hosts at a distance as they got points by Murphy and Jason Campbell to remain close at 11-6.
• The Mustangs outscored the home side 6-4 over the next ten point with kills off the hands of Gardner, Bosko, and Gardner made it 17-10.
• Misericordia would not go away quietly as a kill by Campbell and ace for Caleb Bauder wrapped up a 5-2 push cutting the gap to 19-15.
• Stevenson used scores for Reynolds, Gardner, and three Cougar miscues to outpace the hosts 6-2 over the final eight points to grab the second 25-17.
• After the teams shared the opening four points of the third a kill for Bosko and a combination block by Smiley and Gardner gave the Mustangs a slim 4-3 edge.
• The visitors proceeded to open it up using kills from Smiley, Gardener, and Shorts to go on a 7-1 gallop to jump ahead 11-4 leading to a Misericordia timeout.
• Kills by Murphy and Brian Ross brought the Cougars to within five 12-7.
• Smiley and Gardner each picked up a kill to finish a 5-1 push to stretch the lead to nine 17-8.
• Misericordia once again would not go down as trailing by seven at 17-10, kills for Spidle and Matt Lavin coupled with a Matt Churchill ace capped a 4-0 run closing the score to 17-14.  
• The Cougars brought the margin down to two at 20-18 on an attack error by Reynolds and at 21-19 thanks to a Ross kill.
• With Stevenson maintaining a two-point cushion at 23-21 a pair of Bosko kills ended the set and match 25-22.
• The Mustangs as a team posted a .440 attack percentage to the hosts .129.
• Stevenson handed out 41 assists to Misericordia 26.
• Gardner paced the visitors with 15 kills and five blocks.
• Shorts and Bosko each finished with eight kills and combined for 18 digs, three blocks, and an ace.
• Reynolds added six kills and four blocks.
• Taylor dished out a match-high 32 helpers.
• Campbell let the Cougars with seven kills and eight digs.

• Gardner led all Mustangs with 22 kills on the night.
• Shorts 16 digs in the Misericordia match were a season-high.
• The .440 team hitting percentage and 14 service aces against Eastern were both season-highs.
• Nine different Stevenson players recorded a kill on the night.
• The Mustangs have now won four of their last five with the only setback coming at home to No. 13 Arcadia last Saturday.

• Stevenson returns to action on Wednesday, February 27 when they welcome the Messiah College Falcons to Owings Mills Gymnasium for a Middle Atlantic Conference contest slated for a 7pm first serve.
• Also, a schedule note the Mustangs match scheduled for next Saturday, March 2 against Widener University at Owings Mills Gymnasium has now been changed to Friday, March 1 at 5pm still inside of Owings Mills Gymnasium.
