Ursinus Rallies Past No. 17 Mustangs in Fourth

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Visiting Ursinus scored all six goals of the fourth quarter to move past No. 17 Stevenson in non-conference men's lacrosse Saturday night at Mustang Stadium.

  • Ursinus (1-0) got goals from Ben Goetz and Peter DeSimone to take a 2-0 lead 2:23 into the contest.
  • Stevenson (0-1) got on the board when Jacob Tatum took advantage of the Ursinus goalie being out on a broken clear and fired from midfield at the 4:47 mark to make it 2-1.
  • Ethan Christensen scored with 2:32 left in the opening frame to tie the game.
  • Bobby McClure scored with nine seconds left in the period to put the Bears on top after 15 minutes.

  • Christensen scored his second goal of the contest 1:50 into the second to tie things for the second time, but goals by Ursinus at 12:42 and a man-up tally at 10:16 put the guests up by a pair.
  • After Will Smith notched his first Mustang goal at 9:47, Gray McKee scored a man-up goal at the 7:36 mark to tie the game.
  • Just 12 seconds later, Tatum's second goal of the game gave Stevenson its first lead, 6-5.

  • A behind-the-back goal by JT Thelen 3:51 into the second half put the Mustangs on top 7-6.
