STEVENSON, Md. - The Stevenson men's tennis team won its sixth-straight match in a 9-0 sweep against visiting Albright. With the victory, the Mustangs are now 2-0 in conference play.
Senior Wornden Ly and sophomore Ray McDermott improved their doubles record to 12-6 after taking their opponents in No. 1 doubles, 8-3. The win is their fourth in a row.
Freshman Richie Abruscato and Andre Sturniolo won their first match as a duo in No. 2 doubles, sweeping their opponents by an 8-0 score. Juniors Andrew Ryan and Peter Appiah Jr. picked up a win in their first match as doubles partners by the same 8-0 score.
Later in the day, the Mustangs (7-4, 2-0 MAC) took all six of the singles matches in straight sets.
McDermott picked up his seventh win of the season, taking his match in No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-1. Sturniolo swept his opponent 6-0, 6-0 for his seventh-straight victory in No. 2 singles.
Ly won his fifth-straight by a 6-3, 6-3 margin, while Ryan won his seventh straight match by a 6-0, 6-0 score to improve his singles record to 11-3.
Appiah won this third singles match on the year in a 6-2, 6-1 triumph, while Abruscato picked his third win in a row after taking his match, 6-4, 6-0.
The Mustangs will look to stay undefeated in MAC Commonwealth play when they travel to Messiah on Tuesday, April 10. The match begins at 3:30 pm.
