Sturniolo, Ryan Win 13th Straight, Mustangs Upend Lebanon Valley

STEVENSON, Md. - The Stevenson men's tennis moved to 5-1 in MAC Commonwealth play after defeating visiting Lebanon Valley by a 5-4 score at the Greenspring Tennis Courts.

Sophomore Andre Sturniolo won his first match of the season at No. 1 singles and his 13th-straight overall after taking his match in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1. Earlier in the day, Sturniolo and junior Douglas Vaughan teamed up for their ninth-straight win in No. 2 doubles by an 8-5 margin. 

Junior Andrew Ryan took his 13th straight match and improved to 17-3 on the season after winning his No. 3 match, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3. Ryan also won in No. 1 doubles play alongside senior Wornden Ly by an 8-4 score. 

Ly overcame a one-set deficit to win his No. 2 singles match 5-7, 6-1, 6-2 for his 12th win of the year. 

Vaughan fell to 11-8 on the year after a hard-fought 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (7-1) defeat in No. 4 singles. 

The Mustangs (12-5, 5-1 MAC Commonwealth) will look to clinch the No. 2 seed in the MAC Commonwealth playoffs when they conclude regular season play at Arcadia on Saturday, April 28 at 11:00 am.
