GLENSIDE, Pa. - Stevenson softball senior Brooke Steinbach went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate in the opening game while junior Erin Stephey went a combined 6-gor-7 as the Mustangs posted a MAC Commonwealth doubleheader split at Arcadia Friday afternoon at Blankley Field.

The Mustangs (11-11, 3-5 MAC Commonwealth) opened with a 5-1 victory before falling in five innings in game two, 9-1.

Following a leadoff triple by Stephey to open game one, senior Tiffany McKee was able to bring in the run with a sacrifice fly to left field. Stevenson added three runs in the third inning, sparked by a bases loaded single up the middle by Steinbach to score a pair of runs.

Stephey knocked in a run in the fourth inning with a two out single to left field to score freshman Kayla Briles. Briles, who had a stolen base in each of the games, has stolen 16 consecutive bases to start the season.

Stephey went 3-for-4 while Briles was 2-for-3 with a pair of runs. In the pitching circle, sophomore Morghan Fulton picked up her sixth win of the season after scattering just six hits and allowing only one earned run.

In game two, the Mustangs left seven runners on base while the Knights (10-12, 3-5 MAC Commonwealth) scored six unearned runs for a shortened five-inning victory. Briles scored the lone run for Stevenson on an RBI single through the left side by McKee.

Stephey went 3-for-3 at the plate and extends her hitting streak to 10 games. She also has 13 multi-hit games this season, including four three-hit games.

Stevenson returns to action on Saturday, April 14 when the Mustangs travel to Messiah for a MAC Commonwealth contest beginning at 1:00 p.m.
