Men's Tennis Bows Out in MAC Commonwealth Semifinals

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Second-seeded Lebanon Valley College advanced to the finals of the MAC Commonwealth Men's Tennis Championship with a 5-1 win over No. 3 seed Stevenson University Tuesday at Shankroff Tennis Center.  The Dutchmen (12-5) advance to Saturday's championship match at top-seeded Messiah.

Stevenson (6-13) was making its fourth straight conference semifinal appearance.

The Mustangs staked themselves to an early 1-0 lead as senior Bryan Gieselman and junior Wormden Ly recorded an 8-4 win.  Lebanon Valley held a 2-1 lead after doubles with 8-4 wins at No. 2 and No. 3.

The Dutchmen posted two-set victories at each of the bottom three flights to clinch the win.  Gieselman held a 6-4, 3-2 lead at No. 1, while Douglas Vaughn led 7-6, 1-0 at No. 3 when the match ended.
