FREDERICK, Md. - The Stevenson softball team was held to just four hits while Hood scattered 20 as the Mustangs were shutout in a MAC Commonwealth doubleheader versus the Blazers Wednesday afternoon at the Hood Softball Field.
The Mustangs (3-15, 0-8 MAC Commonwealth) were held to one hit in the opening game, a season-low before totaling three in the second. The team has been held to three or fewer hits in five games this season, including four of the last seven.
Senior Naomi Fields recorded the lone hit in the opening 11-0 loss as the Blazers (13-8, 4-4 MAC Commonwealth) opened with eight runs in the first inning. Fields also added a hit in the second game to extend her hitting streak to five games.
Sophomores Erin Stephey and Kayla Maggio each recorded a hit in the second game.
Stevenson returns to action on Saturday, April 1 when the Mustangs host a MAC Commonwealth doubleheader versus Lycoming beginning at 1:00 p.m.
