CHESTER, Pa. - Stevenson softball junior Tiffany McKee hit her second career home run to spark the only offense for the Mustangs in a MAC Commonwealth doubleheader loss versus Widener Sunday afternoon.
The Mustangs (3-9, 0-4 MAC Commonwealth) have dropped six straight games and have been shutout in three of those games. During the stretch, the team has averaged just 4.2 hits and 0.7 runs per game.
In the opening game, the Pride (10-4, 2-0 MAC Commonwealth) scored twice in the bottom of the first inning, including a bases loaded walk with two outs. Widener recorded three hits in the opening inning.
Stevenson recorded a hit in the first and second innings before Katie Rabuck retired the side in order over the next three innings. Rabuck had retired 14 consecutive batters before McKee's solo home run with two outs in the sixth inning.
McKee went 2-for-3 at the plate in the opening game while senior Naomi Fields and junior Jasmyn Ogletree each recorded a hit.
After recording just one error in the previous four games, the Mustangs finished with two.
In game two, Widener scored five runs on four hits in the second inning, including two unearned. The Pride added three more runs over the next two innings while holding Stevenson to just three hits for the five inning victory.
Juniors Brooke Steinbach and Kate Finnen as well as freshman Morghan Fulton recorded hits for the Mustangs.
Stevenson returns to action on Wednesday, March 29 when the Mustangs travel to former CAC foe Salisbury for a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 2:30 p.m.
