Box Score ASHLAND, Va. - For the second time in three days, Stevenson men's soccer sophomore Iliyas Mirza scored a goal while senior Michael Tringali totaled a career-best 15 saves as the Mustangs finished in a 1-1 draw in double overtime versus Randolph-Macon Saturday afternoon.
The Mustangs (0-1-1) defense held strong as the visitors were outshot 34-6, including 21-1 after halftime. Randolph-Macon also totaled seven of the eight shots in the two combined overtime periods.
Mirza gave the visitors a 1-0 halftime lead for the second consecutive game, this time coming on a penalty kick. The two teams combined for 41 fouls and six yellow cards, including one that led to the penalty kick for Stevenson.
The Hornets (1-0-1) leveled the game in the 59th minute as Bryan Lutz put away a rebound attempt that was originally saved by Tringali. Thirteen of Tringali's 15 saves game in regulation.
Stevenson wraps up its opening three game road trip on Sunday, September 4 when the Mustangs face Hampden-Sydney beginning at 4:00 p.m.
