GLENSIDE, Pa. - After falling in the ECAC South Semifinal to Moravian, the Stevenson men's tennis team ended their season on a high note with a consolation match win over host Arcadia, 5-1. The Mustangs (13-8, 6-1) won all three doubles matches en route to the victory.
Junior Bryan Gieselman and senior Peter Hoblitzell won their seventh straight with an 8-3 victory in No. 1 doubles. Gieselman and Hoblitzell finished the season with a 16-3 doubles record.
Senior Conrad Ellis and junior Troy Derrick won their 13th straight match with an 8-4 victory in No. 2 doubles, while freshman Peter Appiah Jr. and freshman Douglas Vaughn picked up their victory in a tiebreaker, 9-8 (7-3). Derrick and Ellis end their season with a 14-2 record in doubles.
Derrick won his 14th match of the year with a 6-2, 6-2 win in the No. 3 singles, while Ellis ended his collegiate career with a 6-4, 6-2 triumph. Ellis ended his senior season winning 13 of his last 14 singles matches.
Gieselman and Hoblitzell's respective singles matches were stopped once Stevenson clinched the victory. Hoblitzell finished his senior season with a singles record of 13-6.
