Box Score ANNVILLE, Pa. – The 11th-ranked Stevenson University men's lacrosse team clinched at least a share of first place in the MAC Commonwealth regular season standings with a 13-5 win at Lebanon Valley College Saturday afternoon at Arnold Field. The Mustangs extended their win streak to nine games.
Stevenson (12-4, 7-0 MAC Commonwealth) sits in first place in the MAC Commonwealth standings following their 31st consecutive conference regular season win. The Mustangs host second place Widener (5-1 MAC Commonwealth) on Saturday, April 30 at 7:00 for Senior Night and can wrap up the top seed in the MAC Commonwealth tourney with a win against the Pride. The Mustangs also improved to 6-0 on the road this season.
Seniors Stephen Banick and Matt Tompkins finished with three goals and an assist apiece for Stevenson, while junior Sean Ohlhaver added two goals and an assist. Junior Wade Korvin and sophomore Kyle Karsian each tallied two goals, with junior Morgan Pritchett recording the other goal. Junior Parish Young handed out four assists.
Lebanon Valley (9-5, 4-2 MAC Commonwealth) got goals from five different players, with Koty Keefer recording a goal and two assists.
Stevenson outshot Lebanon Valley 13-4 in the opening quarter to open up a 4-0 lead. The Mustangs extended the lead to 6-0 on back-to-back man-up goals by Tompkins at 13:48 and Banick at 12:11. The Dutchmen got on the board on Alex Bushong's goal at the 10:47 mark, but Karsian scored just under 40 seconds later to make it a six-goal lead once again. The Mustangs carried an 8-2 lead into halftime.
Lebanon Valley pulled within four by scoring the first two goals of the third quarter, with Keefer scoring at 11:40 and Klayton Garman at 9:16. Banick scored with 6:39 left in the third and Karsian scored at 5:30 to give the guests a 10-4 lead after three. Stevenson scored the first three goals of the fourth quarter to go up 13-4.
Senior Connor Skeen started in goal and made eight saves before giving way to freshman Tyler Steinberg for the final 3:42. LVC's Cameron Epple made 24 saves as the Mustangs outshot the Dutchmen 58-21. Stevenson won 15-of-21 faceoffs and picked up 40 ground balls to Lebanon Valley's 29.
Senior Chad Williams and sophomore Lito Flanagan each had three caused turnovers, with Flanagan recording five ground balls and Williams 4. Junior Nathaniel LeQuang was 12-17 at the faceoff X.
