READING, Pa. - The Stevenson men's tennis team remains undefeated in MAC Commonwealth play after defeating host Alvernia, 8-1. Senior Peter Hoblitzell and junior Bryan Gieselman won their third No. 1 doubles match in a row for the Mustangs (10-5, 5-0). The 8-2 victory improved Hoblitzell and Gieselman's doubles record to 12-3.
Junior Troy Derrick and senior Conrad Ellis picked up their ninth straight doubles win after decisively defeating their No. 2 opponents, 8-2. Derrick and Ellis are now 10-2 in doubles play this season.
In No. 3 doubles, the freshman duo of Peter Appiah Jr. and Zach Borgerding won in impressive fashion, 8-1.
Gieselman shut-out his oppenent, 6-0, 6-0, in No. 1 singles, while Hoblitzell won his fourth-straight after winning his No. 2 match in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0.
Derrick picked up a straight-set victory in No. 3 singles, 7-5, 6-2, for his ninth straight win. Ellis won his eighth straight match in a 6-2, 6-1 triumph.
Freshman Zach Borgerding won his 10th match of the season with a 6-1, 6-2 victory in No. 5 singles.
The Mustangs play next in a non-conference road match at Delaware Valley on Sunday, April 24 at 1:00 pm.
