GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Stevenson men's tennis team won its seventh match in a row with a 5-4 triumph over host Arcadia. Seniors Conrad Ellis and Peter Hoblitzell picked up singles victories for the Mustangs (9-5, 4-0) who are undefeated in MAC Commonwealth play.
Before his singles victory, Hoblitzell teamed up with junior Bryan Gieselman in an 8-5 No. 1 doubles win. With the win, the tandem is now 11-3 on the year.
Hoblitzell then went on to take his No. 2 singles match in straight sets 6-3, 6-2. The win improved Hoblitzell's singles record to 10-4.
Ellis and junior Troy Derrick improved their doubles record to 9-2 with their 8-5 win in No. 2 doubles. Derrick and Ellis have won eight straight matches.
Derrick was a straight-set winner in his No. 3 singles match, 6-3, 6-2. The victory was his eighth straight in singles.
Ellis won his seventh straight and improved his singles record to 11-6 with a 7-5, 6-3 win in No. 4 singles.
Stevenson plays next against conference rival Alvernia on Wednesday, April 20 at 3:30 pm.
